Audition Information
General Auditions for the 2013 season will take place February 22 - 24, with Callbacks on March 2 & 3. All auditions are at the Forest Meadows Amphitheatre ; parking is in the lot at 890 Belle Avenue. In case of rain, auditions will relocate to the Meadowlands Assembly Hall or Guzman Lecture Hall on the campus of Dominican University.
Friday, February 22: 11 AM to 4 PM - AEA only
Saturday, February 23: 1 PM - 6 PM
Sunday, February 24: 10 AM to 5 PM
Our Audition Workshop will take place Monday, February 18 from 7 - 10 pm at the Corte Madera Town Center Community Room.

2013 Summer Season

ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL, directed by Robert Currier
To schedule an audition appointment by phone or email, please tell us your name, whether or not you are a member of Actor’s Equity Association, your preferred audition date and time, your email address, and phone number. We will contact you to confirm your appointment, with email as our preferred communication tool. In the event you need to cancel or change your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.
Equity actors please prepare two contrasting Shakespearean monologues, total 3 min. max; non-Equity please prepare one Shakespearean monologue, 2 min. max. Bring photo/resume to the audition. We will also see a short example of any special talents (singing, juggling, musical instrument, etc.); this season we are particularly looking for actors who sing or play country/western instruments. Please prepare to use your full voice; ours is a large outdoor amphitheatre.
Out of town actors wishing to audition in San Rafael before February may send photo/ resume to: management@marinShakespeare.org along with information about when you would be available for an audition appointment. At the Artistic Director’s discretion, an appointment may be scheduled after your resume is received.
We will also accept videotape auditions; we are particularly interested in actors with extensive outdoor Shakespeare experience. Some housing for out of town AEA actors is available. Please be aware that you are more likely to be considered for casting if we can meet you in person. For video auditions, we prefer that you send a link to info@marinShakespeare.org

THE SPANISH TRAGEDY: Rehearsals begin June 11, performances July 5 - August 11
A COMEDY OF ERRORS: Rehearsals begin June 18, performances July 19 - September 29
ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL: Rehearsals begin July 23, performances August 16 - September 29
Specific schedules will vary depending on whether actors are cast in one, two, or three productions.
Contracts & Stipends:
Marin Shakespeare Company has a Letter of Agreement contract; we hire up to ten AEA actors during the season; the salary will be a minimum of $448/week. We cast the remainder of the company from non-AEA actors; the non-AEA stipend is $725 per show; you may gain EMC (Equity Membership Candidacy) points. Paid teaching work is also available; we draw many teachers from our company.
Professional Actor Training - Summer Intern Program:
Are you college age or older and interested in a career as a professional actor? Marin Shakespeare’s Professional Actor Training Intern Program allows Interns to take classes with company members (acting, audition, combat, voice, other skills) and master teachers. Interns can gain EMC points. We generally accept 8 - 12 Interns per year. Technical Theatre Internships:
Are you a high school student or young adult interested in the technical side of theatre? Join our Technical Intern program. Attend hands-on classes in Artistic Direction, Stage Management, Set Design and Construction, Lighting, Prop Design, Scenic Art, Costume Design, and House Management. Tech Interns will be paid a small stipend, and are expected to complete at least 60 hours of instruction and production assisting over the course of the summer. Design, Production and Front-of-House Positions:
To apply for a design, production or front-of-house position, please send your resume and brief cover letter to: management@marinShakespeare.org. We no longer accept applications by mail. We are looking for a Tech Director, carpenters, costume designers, house managers, assistant stage managers, and various other positions.
